pioneer technology in Poland

our dynamic growth

Watt was established in 1998 to follow years of our interest and passion concerning renewable and ecological energy sources.

The first flat-plate collectors manufactured by Watt, the only ones in Poland back then, were equipped with a highly selective TINOX absorber. Nowadays we use the ETA PLUS absorber manufactured by BLUE TEC from Germany. State-of-the-art solar materials were improved by a unique soldering technology that connects copper pipes with the absorber. The solution was patented in 2006.

In 2003 WATT was the first company in Poland to manufacture a vacuum tube collector based on vacuum glass tubes and highly reflective parabolic mirror. As a result, WATT became the only Polish manufacturer of both types of solar collectors: flat-plate and vacuum tube (“Sydney” or “U-type”).

Watt has a special relation with the Silesian region. The company was established in Siemianowice Slaskie. For several years its headquarters were located in Chorzow. The construction of a new Watt factory in Piekary Slaskie began in October 2006. The production hall, warehouse and offices – a total area of 3,500 sqm – were put into use in March 2008.

The company is currently building one of the largest European solar collector factories in Sosnowiec (in the Sosnowiec/Dabrowa subzone of the Katowice Special Economic Zone). It will cover a huge area of over 25,000 sqm.

Solar technologies are perfected in the R&D Department, which will have access to a specialist laboratory in the new factory.
